This weekend my friend and I decided to spend our rainy day
in the planetarium, however by the time we got there, we were 5 minutes late to
the last session, so we decided to go to the museum instead. This museum was on my list of places to
go and was right next door to the planetarium so it worked out perfectly. The best part about museums in Lisbon
is that many of them are free. I
was surprised how nice of a museum it was considering it was free. This museum is located in Belém and is
one of the largest collections of contemporary and moderm art in the world. It
has been open for almost 6 years and holds over 1000 pieces of artwork. For
anyone who likes abstract art or minimalism, this is the place for you. There is also a lot of popart and
surrealism as well. The most famous artists displayed here are Warhol, Picasso,
Duchamp, Jackson Pollock, and Jeff Koons.
